Organization Information
At the background of grim scenarios around the globe in the area of water supply & sanitation resulting in dangerously high incidences of mortality & morbidity, the United Nations General Assembly Launched the International Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation Decade (IDWSSD) for the period of 1981-1990. The decade was observed with the mission to help reduce mortality & morbidity caused by water-borne diseases at the grassroots. And to implement the decade program in Bangladesh, NGO Forum for Drinking Water Supply & Sanitation launched its journey in 1982 as a brainchild of the United Nations Steering Committee of the IDWSSD. Considering its valuable stake in the sector NGO Forum has extended adaptive measures recognizing the emerging threats in the sector.
Now NGO Forum is engaged as the national networking and service delivery organization in the area of water, sanitation, and environment dedicated to contributing to the improvement of Public Health situation, especially for the poor, marginalized, and excluded segment of the society of Bangladesh.
NGO Forum works as a development partner with all relevant national and international agencies and stakeholders ranging from the government and civil society to the resource sharing partners
